Tribute to a pioneer of Hagen city

I would like to pay tribute to a man who was one of the pioneers of shaping what is now the Mt Hagen City.

The province as a whole owes it to its early public and civil servants who ranged from drivers, cleaners, doctor boys and shop-keepers to colonial cops. Among the many unsung heroes were people like Bangi Liko, Sgt Tanda, Doctor Boy Kaki, Bagme and Kuglang, David Korae and the list goes on, those who gave themselves selflessly for the development of what is now the Western Highlands Province.

Your roles in various capacities have been the building blocks in ensuring the right foundation for the development of the town back then to its current city status.
At this juncture, I farewell Bangi Liko - a great Finschhafen man who was a true Western Highlander for all these years until he passed on recently.

My sincere sympathies and condolences to relatives, immediate family members and his grand children.

May you rest in peace.
